Reactions walking on Palm's site and on April 5
Walking twigs students Bordeaux
the occasion of the XXIV World Youth Day, more than 80 young students Bordeaux undertook a "Walk in the presence of Christ and St. between Lussac Emilion, April 5. These twelve kilometers were under as much a physical and spiritual walk. Here are the reactions of some participants.
1. On the Palm of students, it seems clear as title,
but what is it actually?
Isabelle and Aurelie: is above all a time for us to share our perspective. We do not have bothered to walk more: our joy is shared, through our songs and games. It is a very interesting experience.
Alexandra Walking Palm is also a way for me to live with my Christian brothers and sisters rising of Jesus into Jerusalem. We recognize that Christ is our King and we look forward to living together is a moment of joy or we walk with Christ but it is also a painful time because we realize that our King, our brother will be death on the cross for us.
2. What did you expect really and personally this work?
Charles I confess not to have expected much. It was mostly an opportunity to leave the daily grind of studying. It is true that the coup, it was not hard to beat! What is certain is that I was not expecting this. I saw something much simpler, more monotone. It was really a great time to spend together. The sun was up, everyone was smiling and happy to be there. And many moments of meditation allowed me to feel truly at peace, trusting in the Lord.
Sonia Y having already participated last year, I knew what to expect: walking with our Chaplain available and our listening, discovery of other groups and their time-sharing. However this year was doubly intense was that this fabulous sun? Was it the scene? Was it an atmosphere more conducive to sharing? I can not say, but the result is there: heart full of joy, inclined to wait Resurrection of Christ!
Agnes What I expect is summarized in these words: a strong moment of unity and interaction between different groups, chaplaincy Bordeaux to the Emmanuel Community, through the Christian group in Great Ecoles (CGE). This is an opportunity to celebrate our faith, taking time to meditate on the word and listen to our God.
3. Is there a high point, a particular moment of the day
you particularly enjoyed?
Cedric: I was touched by the presence of Bishop Blaquart, our auxiliary bishop. This shows the emphasis in our diocese to youth ministry and a possible proximity with the ministers of the Church. In fact, I could talk and discuss with him during the day. What better for a walk whose theme was "going ahead of the Christ"?!
Agnes and Sonia: A moments that remain etched is this "procession" improvised between the monolithic church and the parish church by singing the "Hail Mary" in the streets filled with visitors. Christ was once again with us in our steps in our smiles, but also in the eyes of all those tourists surprised to hear this song in such a sacred place!
Mary When many of us were gathered on the square bell tower, the views of magical Saint-Emilion, and we sang in chorus "Let us give Glory to our God who did wonders" in front of stunned tourists all ... all? No! A small Quebec grandpa took the opportunity to get his camera and capture this moment of grace! And many others are right: the last family photo with everyone on the square the collegial Lauds on the bus to go where already the fervor of the day was palpable; visit the chapel timeless monolith; the final stages of Theo's christening, Marielle and Michelle lived together in the little church mountain worship at the bend of a road, as resting on our way, existential questions and needed every one of us during times of sharing ...
4. And that day, what have you reported on Sunday evening in Bordeaux?
Charles A little tired, but happy, even released! I would have been said they turned to walk the next day I signed with both hands! We feel truly alive after a day like this.
Agnes and Sonia an inner joy and overflowing, with a desire to constantly sing to praise and thank the Lord. There was discovered how much he should not be afraid to testify to the love of Christ and the joy it gives us.
Alexandra the evening when I got home, I was happy and excited to be part of a family "church." I saw young people who experience real intimacy with Christ, young people who are hungry for God and all this gave me more desire to live my faith and love Jesus.
Mary few sunburns, sore muscles in the feet, small buttons mosquito sneaky ... but a head full of songs and the certainty that we will resume next year!
